IPL, which has had 7 seasons of the tournament so far, has seen some outstanding individual performances that has amazed everyone and has made people enjoy the game around the world with some huge scores and totals put up by batsmen. But there are some performances with the ball that has changed the course of the match and caught the eye equally.

1. Sohail Tanvir –
Sohail Tanvir is a left arm fast bowler with an unorthodox action. He picked the best figures in the IPL picking 6 wickets giving away for 14 runs at an economy of 3.50. He achieved this feat playing for Rajasthan Royals playing against Chennai Super Kings at Jaipur on 4 May 2008. He picked the wickets of Parthiv Patel, Stephen Fleming, Vidyut, Albie Morkel, Muralitharan and Ntini. Because of his spell Rajasthan restricted Chennai Super Kings to 109 which Rajasthan Royals chased easily.
2. Anil Kumble –
Anil Kumble is one of the greatest spinners of all-time in the game of cricket. He is second among the best figures in IPL history picking 5 wickets by giving away 5 runs at an economy of 1.57. He took these wickets for Royal Challengers Bangalore playing against Rajasthan Royals at Cape Town on 18 April 2009. He scalped the wickets of Yusuf Pathan, Ravindra Jadeja, Shane Warne, Munaf Patel and Kamran Khan. Royal Challengers made 133 and bowled out Rajasthan for 58 runs.
3. Ishant Sharma –
Ishant Sharma is the leading fast bowler in test matches for India in recent times. He is third among the best figures in IPL picking 5 wickets giving away 12 runs at an economy of 4 runs per over. He took these wickets for Deccan Chargers playing against Kochi Tuskers Kerala at Kochi on 27th April 2011. Deccan Chargers scored 129 runs and while chasing Ishant Sharma picked the wickets of Jayawardene, Parthiv Patel, Gomez, Brad Hodge and Kedar Jadhav. Deccan Chargers bowled out Kochi for 74.
4. Lasith Malinga –
Lasith Malinga is one of the best bowlers in T-20 format in modern day cricket. He comes at 4th in terms of best bowling figures in IPL picking 5 wickets giving away only 13 runs bowling 3.4 overs at an economy of 3.54 runs per over. He took these wickets for Mumbai Indians playing against Delhi Daredevils at Delhi on 10th April 2011. Delhi batted first and Malinga took the wickets of Warner, Unmukt Chand, Venugopal Rao, Morne Morkel and Ashoke Dinda. His bowling spell helped Mumbai bowled out Delhi for a paltry score of 95 which Mumbai Indians chased down easily.
5. Ravindra Jadeja –
Ravindra Jadeja is another excellent spinner for India who has played in IPL since the inception. His figures comes at the 5th place in terms of best bowling figures, picking 5 wickets giving away 16 runs in 4 overs at an economy of 4 runs per over. He took these wickets for Chennai Super Kings against Deccan Chargers at Vizag on 7th April 2012. Chennai scored a huge total of 193 runs but Jadeja picked the wickets of Parthiv Patel, Chipli, MS Gony, Ravi Teja and Dale Styen. Chennai won this match by 74 runs.
