The burly left hander outclassed the opposition bowlers with his dominating style of play. He along with his partner Adam Gilchrist formed a deadly opening combo in the limited-overs format. Together the duo gave many sleepless nights to the bowlers with their aggressive style of play.
Hayden had this ability to change his game as per the situations and would dominate the spinners on turning wickets. Hayden was technically solid while his main strengths were his powerful cover drives and square cuts.
Hayden could read the bowlers mind, while his innovative style of batting would break the bowlers’ rhythm. Anything short of length Hayden was quick to put the ball in the gap. The Australian would play a waiting game while chasing big targets and would go on to accelerate in the middle overs.
