The “Universal Boss” as he is called, was one of the most destructive batsmen in One Day format as well as the T20. Gayle would dominate the bowlers with powerful hitting and had this great ability to clear the boundary with ease. Gayle was equally brutal while hitting the short balls, pulling fast bowlers out of the park.

Gayle has also scored a triple hundred in Test Cricket. Gayle looked solid on both sides of the wicket but his ability to hit fast bowlers over mid-wicket would break the tempo of the opposition bowlers. Even though the West-Indian had limited footwork, the dashing left-hander would easily penetrate the field with his powerful drives.

Anything short on the off-side Gayle was quick to smash the ball over the boundary rope with his blasting square-cuts. Gayle called it a day last month before playing his last International Series against India. Gayle will be remembered as the biggest entertainer in White ball cricket.
