Surely, Mohammad Kaif‘s most celebrated innings came during the finals of the Natwest series 2002. His partnership with the lower order led India to win the game against England in the finals. It was a memorable moment in India’s history.

India had a bad start of the day as the bowlers could not capitalise the opportunity. Twin centuries from Naseer Hussain and Marcus Trescothick along with a cameo from Andrew Flintoff lifted England to an imposing 325.

While chasing the mammoth target, Sehwag and Ganguly set up a partnership of 100 runs, but soon it was dismantled. The Men in Blue started losing the games after Sachin Tendulkar also lost his wicket, however, the then crucial partnership came from Yuvraj Singh and Kaif. They both added 121 runs before Yuvraj got out. Kaif stood with the team and pulled the game with Harbhajan Singh.

In the last over of Flintoff, Kaif quick running between the wicket worked for India. He cashed in the overthrow as India won the series by two wickets. The right-hand batsman scored unbeaten 87 runs.
