3. Allan Border, Imran Khan and Arjuna Ranatunga (22 times):

Former captain Allan Border kept the cornerstone in building an invincible Australian team. Border was entitled to be ranked alongside Sir Donald Bradman as the greatest of Australian cricketers.
He retired from cricket in May 1994 as Test cricket’s highest run-scorer. In 156 Test matches, he scored 11,174 runs at an average of 50.56 with 27 centuries and 63 fifties. His Australian record for Test Match runs stood for 15 years before Ricky Ponting overtook him.
Even though it has been 26 years since his retirement, he is still on this list with 22 times man of the match awards in his international career as a captain. Former Pakistan player Imran Khan and former Sri Lankan player Arjuna Ranatunga also have an equal number of MoM awards as a captain.
