- Tough away tour of England considering record:
During South Africa’s previous three tours of England under Graeme Smith, the Proteas have ended captaincy careers of three individuals. Nasser Hussain, Michael Vaughan and Andrew Strauss all bid adieu to their captaincy after home Test series losses to South Africa in 2003, 2008 and 2012 respectively. Things this time around though are different with the mentally tough Alastair Cook at the helm of the affairs for England. Not forgoing the fact, it was under Cook’s leadership that England defeated South Africa last year in a Test series. Keeping in mind the expectation from the previous three tours, things will definitely be quite tough for Faf du Plessis’ Test side as winning a series in England now will be far from an easy task.
