Habibul Bashar
Habibul Bashar is one of the greatest captains that Bangladesh has ever producer. The right-handed batsman, who played as many as 50 Tests and 111 ODIs, led Bangladesh to a plethora of historic triumphs which include ODI victories over Australia [2005], India and South Africa [2007] and also the country’s first Test win [vs Zimbabwe in 2004].
But Habibul wouldn’t have even played the game had it not been for his unrelenting grit and perseverance. Back in 2014, Habibul Bashar, during an interview, revealed how his parents were against his decision of pursuing a cricket career as they did not see any future for Bangladesh in the sport.
