5 Current Indian players who should play county cricket 1

5. Ravichandran Ashwin

R Ashwin made his test debut against West Indies in 2011. He has played 32 test matches and picked 176 wickets at an economy of 2.90. He has picked most of wickets playing in Indian conditions where the pitches help the spinners.

In Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and England he has yet to proven a match winner in these countries. He has picked 5 wickets, 16 times while 10 wickets in a match 4 times. He picked 9 wickets in 3 matches in India’s tour of Australia in 2011/12 tour. In 2014/15 test series in Australia, he picked wickets but went for too many runs which did not help India’s cause.

R Ashwin is the leading spinner for India in all formats especially in subcontinental conditions. He needs to develop the skill of turning the ball in conditions which do not help spinners at all. Playing in county cricket will help him to bowl more over’s and know how to bowl in abroad.
