Rohit Sharma is 32-years old right-handed batsman who belongs to Mumbai. Rohit who also known as Hitman, as he has been one of the great batsmen in the limited-overs format. Rohit made his List A debut against New Zealand ‘A’ playing for India ‘A’ in 2006, Later he got selected for the T20 World Cup 2007 in which India won, this is where he came into the fame.
His career has had a lot of ups and downs as he struggled to fix his spot until 6-7 years after his debut. But since MS Dhoni let him open the batting he has been among the best openers for the Indian cricket team. Rohit plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL since 2011. Since 2013 he has been the captain of Mumbai Indians. Mumbai has won the most number of IPL Titles (4) all under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. Therefore he is also known as the most successful captain of IPL.
Coming to international Cricket, in the absence of Virat Kohli, he is the only one who leads the Indian Team in the limited-overs format as he is the Vice-Captain of the Indian team in limited over formats. He also got success in winning Nidhas trophy and Asia Cup title under his leadership. Currently, the Indian cricket team in the limited-overs format has been doing well under Virat Kohli, but whenever there will be a shift in the captaincy, Rohit will be the greatest contender to replace him as Indian captain.
