Opening partner of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, is another crucial player who has been out of action for a long time because of injury. His injury-strike started from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, and since then he has been not a regular member of the team, mostly due to fitness issues. Even his place is also in danger as KL Rahul has proved to be a perfect partner of Rohit in T20Is.
However, nobody could replace Dhawan in ODIs. His past performances are evidence of his stint in the day-night contest. Also, earlier, the southpaw made it clear that he is back with full power as he shared the post on social media.
So, in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa, Dhawan is expected to be a part of the Indian team.
