Back then, West Indies were a force to reckon with. They used to play quality cricket, which made them stay at the top for quite a few years. They dominated the world cricket in all sections of the department with their best form of the game.

But, do you know who the skipper was? The captain of the side was Rohan Kanhai, who was of Indian origin and he had made his debut back in 1957. Rohan retired in 1974 after having captained West Indies to 3 Test wins and 7 draws. He was also their first ODI captain. He scored 6000 runs before calling time.

Kanhai’s final appearance in Test cricket came as captain of the West Indies side in a match against England at Port of Spain. He scored 6000 runs in 79 matches.
