Scoop shot
The entire world knows that Tilakratne Dilshan invented the scoop shot. But that is not true. Dilshan made this shot popular and adopted well. But it was Mumbai Ranji cricketer Iqbal Khan who invented this shot 24 years ago. Mumbai was playing against Saurashtra in 1991-92 season at the Wankhede Stadium when Iqbal stunned everyone by relentlessly scooping the ball behind the wicketkeeper for a boundary. He scored 105 in Mumbai’s first innings.
