5 IPL Performers Who Were Ignored For ICC World Cup 2019; Finally, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced their squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. As always, it opened the gates for a lot of debates. Meanwhile, let’s have a look into the 5 IPL performers, who were ignored by the selection panel that was led by MSK Prasad.

Here are they:

5. Navdeep Saini:

The flamboyant fast bowler has been incredible for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He thrashed the opposition batsmen with his extraordinary pace. After a fine time, the Indian Cricket has seen someone, who can clock the 150 KMPH speed on a consistent basis.

It is expected that Saini would get the nod, as he even got the brilliant record in the national circuit as well. With England pitches well supportive for the fast bowlers, Navdeep could have delivered the goods for India but unfortunately, he missed out. However, he might travel with the team as a reserve bowler.

4. Sanju Samson:

Technically, Sanju Samson has got brilliant skills with his willow. He can be that middle-order option for the team for his exceptional ability to turn the tables with his brilliant knocks. He even scored a century for Rajasthan Royals against the best bowling in the IPL so far.

If considered, he would have well fit in the middle-order. Another fruitful aspect from him would be his wicket-keeping skills. The Indian team would have got two-dimensional player if they had given the nod for the young batsman.

3. Deepak Chahar:

Another brilliant addition to the side would have been Deepak Chahar. The right-arm fast bowler has been excellent for Chennai Super Kings in the powerplay overs and also developed the skills of bowling in the death overs. He could have been a good addition in the England conditions.

Besides his batting, Chahar can also hand his services with the bat, which would have added depth to the batting lineup. However, the selectors haven’t considered the fourth option, which saw him being out of the team.

2. Shreyas Iyer:

Well, the skipper of Delhi Capitals Shreyas Iyer has shown a lot of maturity in the tournament so far. He is carrying the burden of the team in the middle overs with his matured batting for Delhi. Iyer is one of their consistent performers and currently, a top contender for Orange cap.

Besides the IPL performances, Iyer has been pretty brilliant in the domestic circuit. However. BCCI considered Vijay Shankar in the side, as he got the additional aspect of bowling. Shreyas Iyer could have been the good number 4 batsman for the team.

1. Ravichandran Ashwin:

The experienced campaigner Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the top players to be missed out in the squad for the ICC World Cup 2019. The flamboyant all-rounder has been overlooked by the selectors despite his decent performances in the ongoing tournament for Kings XI Punjab.

Perhaps, he would have been on the table but the left-handed Ravindra Jadeja got the nod for his all-around. Despite being out from the squad, Ashwin could be on the standby list. In a case of injury to the prime spinners, he might get the call-up from Indian selectors.
