The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been the birthplace of many cricketers around the world. The tournament has witnessed a plethora of cricketers rise through the ranks and represent their nation on the global stage. Not only Indian players, but the Indian Premier League has also been responsible behind shaping the careers of many foreign players.

However, there have been some players who have not had the same opportunity. Despite putting up some great performances, some players have not been able to find them a place in the Indian team. For every player playing professional cricket, it is his dream to represent his nation and make a mark for himself on the international platform.

Today, we’ll take a look at the five players who have played exceptionally well in the IPL but have not yet represented the India National Cricket Team.

5. Rajat Bhatia

Rajat Bhatia has played for Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Daredevils and Rising Pune Supergiant in the IPL. During this time, he made a lot of headlines with his medium-pace bowling and batting, but he never came in the national selectors’ radar.

Bhatia took 72 wickets in 95 matches played in the IPL at an average of 28.45 and an economy rate of 7.41. Apart from this, he also scored 342 runs at batting rate of 120.42.

4. Harshal Patel

All-rounder Herschel Patel has played an important role in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s and Delhi Capitals’ success so far with his accurate bowling and useful batting skills lower down the order in the IPL. Patel has taken 43 wickets in 43 matches played in the IPL at an average of 28.26 and an economy rate of 8.72.

Besides, he has also scored at a strike rate of 155.07 in batting. Despite having such good figures behind his back, Harshal Patel has bot been able to find a place for him in the Indian team.

3. Nitish Rana

Nitish Rana is another talented batsman who has made his mark as a great top-order batsman in the IPL. Rana specializes in scoring fast as well as finishing the innings in a difficult situation.

Rana has scored 1085 runs in 46 matches played in the IPL at an average of 28.55 and a strike rate of 134.62, during which he has also scored 8 fifties. Even after possessing such talent, Nitish Rana has not been able to make it into the Indian team. Nitish Rana is also the vice-captain of the Delhi Ranji team.

2. Shreyas Gopal

Young spinner Shreyas Gopal took 20 wickets for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2019. Gopal has been performing consistently in the IPL since 2014, but still, the national selection committee is not paying attention to him.

Gopal has taken 38 wickets in 31 matches played in the IPL at an average of 19.37 and an economy rate of 7.50, during which his highest bowling performance has been 4/16.

1. Suryakumar Yadav

Talented right-handed batsman Suryakumar made his debut for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012, and he has been performing consistently for Mumbai Indians for the last two years. Yadav has scored 1544 runs in 85 matches played in the IPL at an average of 28.07 and a strong strike rate of 131.63.

Despite holding such mammoth credentials, Suryakumar Yadav hasn’t made it to team India so far and awaits a maiden national call.
