5 IPL Teams With Most Number Of Captains 1

Sunrisers Hyderabad players react after winning IPL

  1. Sunrisers Hyderabad – 5:

Making their IPL debut in 2013, the Sunrisers got off to a shaky start as their main skipper Kumar Sangakkara was terribly out of form. Sangakkara took the step to drop himself and soon Cameron White was named captain of the team. Under White was well, the results didn’t improve and ultimately it was Shikhar Dhawan leading the team. Thanks to some spirited bowling performances, the men from Hyderabad made it to the playoffs in 2013, but lost to Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator at Delhi.

2014 and 2015 were dismal seasons for them as Dhawan was soon booted out in favor of 2012 World T20 winner Darren Sammy. Sammy too couldn’t falter the failing side and in 2015, David Warner was named as the captain. Warner brought about the needed change as the Sunrisers ended up winning the 2016 edition of the IPL, with the Australian vice-captain leading from the front.

With a win percentage of 58.06% as Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper, Warner has indeed been an efficient leader.
