5 IPL Teams With Most Number Of Captains 2

  1. Mumbai Indians – 6:

The most lucrative club in T20 cricket, Mumbai Indians have had as many as six men leading the team. It all began with Harbhajan Singh captaining them in the first season as designated skipper Sachin Tendulkar was injured. Bhajji though was involved in the infamous slap-gate incident with S. Sreesanth and was thus banned for remainder of the tournament. Shaun Pollock then took over the responsibility before Sachin Tendulkar ultimately returned to lead.

Under Tendulkar’s leadership, Mumbai stood second in the 2010 edition as the Master Blaster led from the front being the Man of the Series. After Harbhajan Singh successfully led them to the 2011 Champions League T20 crown in absence of Tendulkar, he was named the full- time skipper in 2012. Bhajji led for the entire 2012 edition but Mumbai failed to make it to the finals.

In 2013, two-time World Cup winning captain Ricky Ponting was named their skipper but he struggled miserably, with the bat as well as the captain. He benched himself and Rohit Sharma took over the mantle and since then, Mumbai has won two IPL and a CLT20 title. Rohit has established himself as a genuine leader of the Mumbai based outfit. In between for a couple of games, Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard also led the Mumbai Indians.
