No compulsory catching fielders in overs 1-10 (ODIs)
This was a very strange rule change, although most captains loved it. The reason was simple. Two close-in catchers within an imaginary 15-yard circle is always an attacking move.
For bowlers, this rule gave them a great opportunity, they could force the proceedings for wickets and have the luxury to set as many close in catchers or they can tighten the screws more by preserving the perimeter of the 30-yard circle. This approach meant they had less chance of getting wickets unless they attack more. So the bowlers nowadays always have to work on their line and length to pick up intentional wickets and have to bowl exactly to their field.
