VVS Laxman – Deccan Chargers
VVS Laxman was the most suited player for the red ball cricket. He had always struggled in limited over format and his figures in the IPL speak for him.
He was named as the icon player for the Deccan charger who bought him in 2008 and handed him the captaincy of the team. However, he failed miserably not only as a batsman but also as a captain. His team finished last in the points table of the season.
He was removed from the captaincy and Australian star Adam Gilchrist was handed over the charge. Gilchrist didn’t disappoint his team who led them to their maiden IPL trophy.
However, Laxman was released by Deccan Chargers after the 2010 edition.
