Former Indian captain Rahul Dravid is the second-highest Indian run-getter for Royal Challengers Bangalore after the current RCB skipper, Virat Kohli. Like VVS Laxman, he failed to impress with his captaincy.

He was the captain of RCB in 2008 and the team finished at the last of the points table. However, he was retained by the franchise in the next season but he was removed from the captaincy post. Anil Kumble was picked as the captain who led RCB to the runners-up position in 2009.

With a strike rate of 119.66, the 43-year-old had scored five half-centuries for the Royal Challengers Bangalore with an IPL career-best batting score of an unbeaten 75 against the Rajasthan Royals in the very first season of the Indian Premier League.

He was released by the team ahead of the 2011 season and joined RR for the two seasons.
