India and Australia played out an absolute thriller when they locked horns against each other in the second match of the four-match Test series in 2017. The match took place in Bengaluru. Australia came into the game high on confidence after winning the first Test of the series.

A win in Bengaluru would have helped them take an unassailable lead in the series and retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, the hosts bounced back in style to win the thriller and drew level in the series. India were all out for just 189 in the first innings. In reply, Australia scored 276.

In the second innings, the hosts rode on fifties from KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane to score 274 and set the visitors a target of 188 runs. Australia must have fancied their chances but their hopes were dashed by Ravichandran Ashwin. The India spin spearhead picked up 6 wickets to help the hosts bowl out the visitors for just 112.
