Kevin Pietersen – 3.5 Crores:
England superstar Kevin Pietersen ended up as one of the most expensive buys from Rising Pune Super Giants in the auction pool. The reputation of the right-hander is quite well-known and needs no description. It was anticipated Pietersen would ignite an aggressive bidding war in the auction. The same happened and Rising Pune Supergiants snapped him for 3.5 crores. The season, however, did not pan out as expected. KP was able to feature in only four matches before bowing out of the tournament due to an injury. He had just begun to get in the scoring rhythm and his departure hurt the team’s plans badly.
KP has ruled himself out of the league this season as well due to a packed schedule later this year.
