5 Pacers Team India Must Invest in for the Future

Across the cricketing globe, domestic cricket hands a chance for the talented players to make their place in their respective senior teams like India, for an instance. Most of the prominent faces in cricket have produced outstanding results in the domestic circuit to lead as an example in the international fold. Similarly, living legends in Team India like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had to work hard to push youngsters.

One of the best findings for the Indian team which has to be mentioned is pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Under Kohli’s captaincy, the pace department of the Indian team has become strong to reap rewards more often than not. Youngsters like Deepak Chahar, Shivam Dube and Navdeep Saini have turned out to be the crucial prospects for India in a longer run.

Similarly, here we will discuss the five pacers who have done well to get the attention and Team India should not hesitate to invest in them for the future.

Sandeep Warrier:

Sandeep Warrier is the right-arm medium pacer who plays for IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and state-based side, Kerela. He had delivered goods during the 2018-19 domestic season. The pacer ended up as the highest wicket-taker for Kerala in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, with 12 dismissals in six matches. He finished as the leading wicket-taker for Kerala in the group-stage of the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, with 44 dismissals in ten matches.

He also plays for India A on the international level. In the Indian Premier League 2019, he earned a place in KKR team after Kamlesh Nagarkoti got injured.

Warrier had featured in 12th edition and went on to play three matches and eventually picked two wickets. Currently, Warrier is serving Kerala in the 2019-20 Ranji trophy season.

The 28-year-old Warrier has amazing figures in the first-class cricket. He has picked 182 wickets in 55 matches at the economy rate of 2.48. He also has eight four-wicket and 11 five-wicket hauls in this format. Talking about shorter formats, he has played 53 List A and 47 T20s, to pick 65 and 46 wickets respectively. Thus, seeing his stats, he can be the future player who can be seen with Indian National cricket team.

 

The team management should keep an eye on the rising star Sandeep Warrier.

Tanvir Ul Haq:

Tanvir-ul-Haq is the best performer for Rajasthan in the domestic set-up. The left-arm medium-pacer has impressive figures in the first-class cricket.

In 2018-2019 domestic season, he became the first bowler for Rajasthan to pick 50 wickets in one single season of Ranji Trophy.

In 34 first-class matches, he has picked 118 wickets at an economy rate of 2.88. He has also five four-wicket and four five-wicket hauls in this format. He has picked 24 wickets, including a four-wicket haul, in 15 List A matches. Tanvir has also a four-wicket haul in the T20s, picking 18 wickets in 16 matches.

Tanvir’s presence in the Rajasthan team has strengthened their bowling department. Currently, he is busy playing the Ranji Trophy 2019-20.

Shivam Mavi:

The 21-year-old is an emerging star in the Indian cricket. The all-rounder is a left-arm pacer who plays for Uttar Pradesh. He also plays for KKR in the Indian Premier League.

Shivam has played six first-class 16 List A and nine T20s where he picked 25, 22 and five wickets respectively. He made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy. On his Ranji debut, Mavi took a 4-wicket haul against Goa in Kanpur. In his second first-class match against Odisha, he picked up his maiden five-wicket haul.

Mavi can be a crucial player as his batting and bowling skill will surely help the senior team. The team management should keep an eye on the Uttar Pradesh-based player.

Tushar Deshpande:

Tushar Deshpande, Indian pacer, domestic cricketer, Team India

The right-arm pacer was bought in the IPL 2020 auction by Delhi Capitals. Tushar has played 16 first-class, 19 List A and 20 T20s for Mumbai in the domestic cricket.

The 24-year-old Deshpande first came in the limelight when he took a five-wicket haul in the quarter-finals of his debut season of Ranji Trophy 2018-2019.

Deshpande has picked 31, 21 and 45 wickets in 20 T20s, 19 List A and 16 first-class cricket respectively. The national selectors will surely be tested in his IPL 2020 debut.

Mohammad Siraj:

Mohammed Siraj has played for India in 2019 against Australia. Siraj had leaked runs. Concurrentlybeen dropped from the Indian team.

Though, he had featured regularly in the domestic side and has been doing well in first-class cricket. He has picked 142 wickets in 33 first-class matches which also include 13 four-wicket hauls, four five-wicket and two ten-wicket hauls. His impressive figures will surely give him a chance in future.

Siraj is the specialist in a red-ball game while he has also impressed in shorter formats. He picked 73 and 79 wickets in 42 List A and 58 T20s. Thus, Team India will be keen to see Siraj doing wonders.
