And one can say that the fans’ outrage is quite right as Gambhir has been performing brilliantly and deserved a chance in the team. One of the best openers for India in the Tests, Gambhir has so far scored 320 runs in the ongoing Duleep Trophy. He has also scored heavily in the last few editions of the IPL and deserved a chance to don the Indian jersey once again.
With India scheduled to play 13 Tests in the upcoming home season, a seasoned campaigner like Gamhir would have made a huge difference.
