4. Lasith Malinga

Lasith Malinga has many times while addressing the media, said that he is playing for the team as they need him. Thus, it reflects that the T20I captain Malinga himself wants to retire but for his country, he is continuing to play.
Eight years ago, he retired from Test cricket, citing fitness issues, as he suffered from a knee problem. Subsequently, he bid adieu to the longest format in 2011 and shifted his focus to limited over format.
In 2019, he announced his ODI retirement after playing a series against Bangladesh. Well, he also featured in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, which was a disappointing tournament for his team.
Now, the 36-year old only plays T20I and there is no downfall in his form. He is still a dangerous bowler for the opposition and also the yorker king. However, it is time that Malinga accepts the fact that he is not the bowler he used to be at his peak.
