This particular innings will be remembered as one of the best innings played by Ian Bell. Bell showed tremendous calmness and patience batting alongside Kevin Pietersen.
They shared a 286 run partnership for the 4th wicket. The right-hander Ian Bell put the ball in the gaps with his crispy drives and square cuts. The middle-order batsman played spinners intelligently and place the ball beautifully in the gaps.
Bell batted beautifully and built his innings as per the situations. The match ended in a draw but Bell’s innings helped the three lions to post 593/8 (decl.). Bell is a front-foot player primarily but looked sharp while stroking the ball on the back-foot.
