Steve Waugh vs West Indies 3rd Test in Bridgetown (1999)

Steve Waugh was a class apart during this entire innings. The former skipper punched the ball effortlessly and pulled the ball well. The right-hander looked technically strong and didn’t play too many aerial shots due to the nature of the wicket. Waugh’s defence looked solid as usual.
Steve Waugh held the innings well and showed tremendous character. Steve Waugh swept the spinners well and showed the temperament one needs to excel in demanding situations. Although West Indies won that game by one wicket, Waugh showed why he was considered one of the best players in Test cricket. The wicket offered uneven bounce, but Steve Waugh was batted like a true champion.
Waugh hit 20 boundaries and 1 six in that innings. While the wicket being seam friendly, Waugh stood like a rock at one end and used all his experience to good effect. The right-hander looked strong on the front foot as well as the back foot
