- All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja:
Clearly, India’s player of the season, Ravindra Jadeja emerged as India’s biggest match-winner in the season gone by. With the bat, Jadeja averaged a healthy 42.76 and all the runs he scored were gold dust as he played some valuable knocks with the tail, getting India in tactically strong positions. With the bowl, though, one can understand his skills as he ended the season being the number one bowler in the ICC Test rankings. 71 wickets in 13 games, at a stunning average of just 22.83, Jadeja was India’s answer to all the woes. The best part about him was in his improved ability to take wickets even on unresponsive pitches, like the one at Chennai against England, where he got 7 wickets on the final day of the Test. Looking into the future, the team will be sure of Jadeja replicating this success overseas as well.
