Tom Moody is no stranger to handling big names in cricket and has recently had a fantastic season with Sunrisers Hyderabad. Although the side crashed out in the Eliminator tie, Hyderabad had played a brilliant brand of cricket and were champions under his watchful eyes. Moody had also helped Sri Lanka reach the World Cup finals in 2007.

His recent success speaks for himself and with the kind of expertise and experience, he is one of the best candidates to have applied for the post. However, of the last 17 years of Indian cricket, foreign recruits had been coaches for nearly 15 years, including the massive terms of John Wright, Gary Kirsten and Duncan Fletcher.

However, the trend has shifted towards Indian coaches in the recent past with Ravi Shastri and Anil Kumble donning the hats while Sanjay Bangar was at the charge for a short period. A bit tough to get the role but got the calibre to get the job.
