Toggle3. Virender Sehwag:

Sehwag was one of the frontrunners for the job in previous recruitment times. The cricketer-turned-commentator had apparently been urged to apply for the post by the BCCI, according to media reports. However, later, he stated that no one had contacted him, although he did not respond to questions when asked if he would apply for it nonetheless.
Post-retirement, Sehwag has been a mentor to Kings XI Punjab in 2016 before becoming the franchise’s head of operations for the recently-concluded season.
However, there is a section of people, who opposed that recruitment. While his one-liners have earned him enough fans in social media, his lack of coaching expertise might actually go against him, especially with candidates like Tom Moody in the fray. Also, his overtly extrovert nature might come in the way of a team’s discipline. But, he can be a good coach for the team. as he got enough experienced under his belt.
