5) Rohit has more experience than Virat:
In international cricket, Rohit is playing since 2007 but Virat made his debut in 2008. A cricketer who experienced ups and downs become a good captain. Rohit before the 2013 IPL was a different batsman , but as the captaincy was given to him he has become a very serious cricketer. A determined captain who is ready to win all the matches. Rohit has the skill to lead a team. He is not afraid of his own performance while leading a team, but Virat loves to achieve individual feats.
In 2014 Virat scored a plethora of runs too, but his team failed to impress. In 2016 when David Warner almost alone won the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad , Virat’s team Royal Challengers Bangalore are yet to win the IPL when RCB has Virat, AB de Villiers, Sahne Watson in their team.
At the end of the day cricket is not an individual game, to win a trophy a team needs his batting and bowling side to perform. Sunrisers Hyderabad has a good middle order and a great bowling side.
So, Rohit can lead India with his captaincy skill while Virat can continue with his scoring ability. India needs both a good captain and scorer, but not both in one man.
Virat will lead India for a four-match Test series in the West Indies tour which may expose many things about Virat’s captaincy.
