- Yuvraj Singh making a comeback:
After spending three long years outside the setup, India’s greatest match winner in this particular format makes a comeback. Fresh from an entertaining half century for India A, this could well be Yuvraj’s last chance in international cricket. India is on the hunt for an ideal sixth bowler, who can share the workload, and in Yuvraj Singh, a superlative candidate is found. His skills with the ball are more than handy as he is a partnership breaker and an edgy customer. Batting wise though, Yuvraj would be expected to bat at 5 and play the finisher’s role. Keeping in mind his clean power hitting, he is well suited to take up for that job.
A successful ODI series here for Yuvraj, could see him being a key member of the team later this year, when India head to England to defend their Champions Trophy title. As of now though, all eyes will keenly scrutinize how the flamboyant southpaw fares against England.
