The T20 format has never been kind to the bowlers. With innovative shots, shorter boundaries, and broader bats, the bowlers are cut no slack in the shortest format of the game. But time and again we have seen some extraordinary performances with the ball in the Indian Premier League.
In the inaugural season, when a number of players from different countries were a part of the gala, Rajasthan Royals’ then strike bowler Sohail Tanvir produced a performance that will never be forgotten. In a game against the Chennai Super Kings, he ended up with figures of 6/14 in his 4 overs which is a record that has not even close to being broken. With the game growing more in favour of the batsmen, it is hard to see this record being broken anytime soon.
