One of the most beautiful things about the IPL is the competition between the sides in the tournament. There have hardly been games that have been completely one-sided given the amount of talent in every team in the competition.
However, in the first game ever played in the IPL, the Kolkata Knight Riders produced a brilliant all-round performance to thump past the Royal Challengers Bangalore with an astonishing margin of 140 runs. Brendon McCullum’s 158* propelled the KKR to a score of 222 while an all-round bowling performance in the second innings saw the RCB franchise fold out for just 82 runs. This record for the largest victory margin has ever since stayed in the record books.
