5 rules that the ICC needs to bring in the game 1
  1. Increase the number of teams in the World Cup:5 rules that the ICC needs to bring in the game 2

The 2019 ICC World Cup is almost 3 years away, but there has been negativity lingering around right from this very moment. The reason has been the ICC’s rather perplexing decision to have just 10 teams in the 2019 World Cup has not gone down too well with the Associate Nations. The likes of Ireland, Scotland, Netherlands and UAE for example, have the World Cup as the biggest motivation to play the game. If that motivation is snatched away from them, their existence in the game would itself become ironic. Due to having just 10 teams, the 2019 World Cup will just be an extension of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. If cricket is to be globalized further, the best option is to increase the number of teams in the World Cup. This would stimulate a lot of interest in low ranked cricketing nations, which would further pursue them to participate in the grand event. It’s high time for the ICC to think over this subject.
