1. Sunil Gavaskar- 36 not out from 174 balls in 1975 World Cup:

In an otherwise illustrious career, legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar’s only forgettable moment with the bat came in the inaugural World Cup when he played arguably the most bizarre knock ever seen in the One-Day Internationals. With the team in dire need of some quick runs after England posted a mammoth total of 334/4 in the allotted 60 overs, Gavaskar ended all hopes of challenging the huge total by adopting an ultra cautious approach.
The former India international batted the entire 60 overs during which he faced 174 balls and struck only one boundary to score an unbelievable 36. India lost only three wickets but managed only 132 runs, resulting in a heavy 202-run win for England.
