5. Bringing young talent to the team
Sourav Ganguly, arguably started the team from rags and backed young players like Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra and MS Dhoni as they went on to become world class players.
The same applies with both MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. MS Dhoni has to build a new team after the 2011 world cup and has brought in lot of youngsters and backed the likes of Jadeja, Ashwin by giving them many chances to prove. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, got a whole young team when MS Dhoni retired from tests and has been impressive ever since he has taken the reign as Test Captain.
