After his failure in the first three innings of the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Rana was dropped from the side for the remaining tournament. Former Delhi skipper Gautam Gambhir was against this decision and criticise the Coach, KP Bhaskar, by discarding the young talents on the basis of some bad performances.
Who would have thought that Rana, in the near future, would clinch a victory against Gambhir’s KKR? He scored a scintillating knock of 50 runs off 29 balls and took his team across the winning line.
