The Uncapped Indian players have done well in Ranji Trophy and also IPL.

Here we look at the 5 uncapped Indian players who deserve a chance in the Indian team:

1. Sheryas Iyer

Shreyas is just 20 years old who started playing cricket at the age of 12. Iyer made his list-A debut for Mumbai in November 2014, in the 2014-15 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He scored 273 runs in that tournament. He made Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai in 2014-15 and scored a total of 809 runs including 2 centuries and made a name for himself.

He was bought by Delhi Daredevils for IPL 8 season. He showed his mettle by scoring 439 runs with 4 half centuries in 14 matches. Among the debutants, he was the only batsman to score 400 plus runs, thus proving his potential for national team. With the key players rested, he will be the right option for the opener’s slot.

2. Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal is a leg spinner who had a great IPL 8 for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He picked 23 wickets in 15 matches. The best thing about him is that he bowls stump to stump and does not give a chance to batsman to hit strokes. With R Ashwin likely to be rested for this tour, Yuzvendra Chahal must be given a chance looking at his performances. He plays for Haryana in the Ranji Trophy. In 17 first class matches he has picked 32 wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal has lot of variations and deceives the batsman with his spin and flight.

3. Sanju Samson

He played for Rajasthan Royals for 2 years under the guidance of Rahul Dravid. He plays for Kerala in the Ranji Trophy. In the 21 matches played he has scored 1386 with the best of 211 at an average of 44.70. With Dhoni likely to be rested, Sanju Samson might be a given a chance to keep the wickets.

Sandeep Sharma is another excellent youngster who deserves a chance to showcase his talent. He plays for Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League and for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy. His best quality is to swing the new ball and trouble the best batsman in the world. If he is selected for this tour then it will be great to see a new Indian bowler emerge with lot of potential. He has also played in the Under 19 World Cup in 2012. In the 27 first class matches he has picked 111 wickets with an economy of 2.74.

Manish Pandey is an exciting young talent. He plays for Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He was selected in the squad for T-20 against West Indies but that match never happened as West Indies left the tour in between. Manish Pandey has been a consistent performer and deserves a chance in the Indian team for this short tour. In the middle overs he has the ability to play quick fire knocks as he has proven for his state team and KKR.  Manish Pandey has played 70 first class matches and scored 4832 runs with an average of 50.86.
