After a great ODI series, India and South Africa will lock horns in 4 match test series starting from 5th November. South Africa won the ODI series on Indian soil after 25 years while India will be looking to carry on the test form that they showed in Sri Lanka. It will be a great series as both teams have some great players which will bring excitement to the crowd. - AB De Villiers
AB De Villiers has been in excellent form in the entire One day International series. He played some excellent innings which laid the foundation for a series win over India in India after such a long time. In test matches too he is an excellent player which can change the course of the match with his brilliant batting. In tour match against Board President XI he scored a brilliant century to revive the South Africa innings. South Africa batting lacks experience and if South Africa needs to win test series in India he needs must come to the party and score some huge runs to put pressure on the Indian batting line up.
- Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli the captain of the Indian team will be looking to continue his success that he got in Sri Lanka. This will be Virat Kohli real test to captain against a strong team. He must focus on doing the basics well and bring positive mindsets into the players. His focus should be play attacking cricket and just not panic when there is a big partnerships going. The Spinners is the strength of the Indian team. He must contribute with the bat so that the Indian team can put consistent pressure on the South African team.
- Hashim Amla
Hashim Amla’s form has been a cause of concern for the South African team. He did not score too many runs in the ODI series. He got starts but failed to capitalize on the starts and gave his wickets away cheaply. He is the captain of the test team. He needs to come back into form and with such big reputation as top test batsmen. His best quality is to spend time on the crease and play according to merit of the ball. Hashim Amla needs to take charge and lead by example if South Africa has any chance to win a test series in India. When he came to India last time in 2010 he was the leading batsmen for South Africa and played some brilliant knocks despite the series being 1-1.

R Ashwin is now set to join the Indian team before the first test. It is great news for Indian fans that R Ashwin will be fit and lead the bowling attack. He injured himself in the first ODI at Kanpur and since then he has not played a single match. If the pitches help the spinners then he will be more than useful and putting pressure on the South African batting line up. R Ashwin was the leading wicket taker in the test series as he picked 21 wickets against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka and has bowled with great control since the World Cup 2015. If India needs to beat the top ranked test side in the world then his contribution will play a big role
- Dale Steyn
Dale Styen is one of the best bowler world especially in Asia. In 17 test matches in Asia since 2007 he has picked 82 wickets with an average of 20.95. He has ability to pick early wickets and reverse swing the old ball with pace. He picked 26 wickets on India soil. In 2010 tour he was the star of the show and managed to help his team win the match. In this series his role becomes important to pick early wickets and put pressure on the Indian batting line up. He needs to bowl fast and just focus on create pressure on the Indian batting line up.
- Ajiynka Rahane
Rahane has been India’s most consistent batsmen since the last 2 years. He scored centuries on foreign soil in England, Australia and almost in South Africa. In Sri Lanka test series his batting order was a talking point as he was shifted from number 5 to number 3. His batting has been brilliant and whatever batting position he comes in this test series his contributions will play a key role in helping India winning. He contributed well in the ODI series where he scored 3 half centuries but his batting order was not settled. The Indian management must think on his batting order.
