Sachin Tendulkar
“The little man has hit the big fella for six”, said Tony Greig when the world’s best batsman was on fire in 1998 against Australia. No one could forget the innings of Tendulkar which helped India lift the Coca-Cola Cup at Sharjah.
First, he scored a century in semi-finals which helped India reach the finals of the tournament. Then, a century in the final, which was a tremendous gift he gave to himself on his birthday. The six he hit against Legend Shane Warne is still fresh. His innings was so appreciated by everyone that people named his terrific innings as a ‘Desert Storm.’ Shane Warne went wicketless in the final and gave away 61 runs. Warne even half-joked later that he had nightmares of the maestro.
