7. Ricky Ponting – Spring in a bat:

The former Australian captain Ricky Ponting was one of the destructive batsmen. He came to the field to make centuries and set big totals for the team. Under his captaincy, Australia has won the World Cup in 2003 and 2007.

Ponting led his team to the 2003 title after winning the final against India which was a one-sided affair. In 2007, he won against Sri Lanka to help his team lift the title for the second time under his captaincy. His prolific performances gave arouse the rumour that Ponting batted with a spring bat during his unbeaten innings of 140 runs off 121 deliveries.

Although, it was later confirmed that there was no such bat and was an April Fool’s prank which went completely wrong.
