Kohli openly praised the returning Mohammad Amir, after the latter served a five year ban from international cricket on account of being guilty of spot fixing. The comment from Kohli praising Amir, a tainted cricketer did raise a few eyebrows and was quite controversial. The comments were made in the lead up to the 2016 Asia Cup which India won.
