“A Bit Unlucky But I Am Pretty Happy”: Kemar Roach On Not Getting Hat-Trick
The Windies bowling unit on Day 3 showed great effort. But they have a big fourth innings target to chase which is 468 runs. Kemar Roach had a big contribution on day 3 of the Test Match. He picked up the wickets of top-order batsmen. Unfortunately, he was not able to complete the hat trick.
He took two consecutive wickets of KL Rahul and Virat Kohli but was unlucky to take the wicket of Ajinkya Rahane. The ball just missed the stump after hitting the inside edge of Ajinkya’s bat. Though the player didn’t get the hat-trick but made another record of becoming the ninth highest wicket-taker of West Indies.
“Inside edge and missing the stumps – a bit unlucky but I am pretty happy with what happened,” Roach said on not getting the hat-trick.
Kemar Roach on Windies performance
When asked about the Windies performances, Roach said that there was more than enough time. He expressed that they had to stick and score more runs. They have not scored well so far, they need to get the score.
“There is more than enough time. Two days left in the Test match. Just bat. Nothing more to be said about that. The guys haven’t had a good score in this Test series so far, so it’s about guys just applying themselves and going out there and being positive and put some runs on the board,” He said.
On bowling unit, Roach opined that the bowlers had given satisfactory performance. He is also impressed with the debutant Rakheem Cornwall as he picked three wickets in the first innings.
“I thought he bowled really well today and the whole Test match for sure. I think he belongs, I think he has a great future for the West Indies, I hope he stays on and continues to do great things for us,” Kemar Roach said.
Windies scored 45 runs with the two-wicket loss on day 3. They have two days to get to the target and get back in the game.
