A complaint has filed against Harbhajan Singh and four bouncers at Akal Takht
A case has been filed against Harbhajan Singh by a senior Youth Akali Dal leader, Jarnail Singh Gardiwal at the Akal Takht- the highest religious sanctuary of the Sikhs. The complaint claimed that Harbhajan had prevented devotees from entering the Gurudwara at the Guru Nanak Mission Netraheen Virdha Ashram during the marriage ceremony on Thursday.
Along with Harbhajan Singh, his four bouncers were also arrested for allegedly manhandling and snatching the cameras of photographers at the marriage venue.
They have been booked under sections 379B (punishment for theft), 427 (mischief causing damage) and 596 of the IPC.
While a large number of bouncers were deployed for the wedding, the four– Navjot Kuldeep, Ravi, Babloo-allegedly tried to break the cameras of some photo journalists following which the media personnel sat on a dharana demanding their arrest.
In his complaint to the Akal Takht, the YAD leader has alleged that the bouncers had prevented devotees from entering the Gurudwara for close to two hours on Thursday, which he added, amounted to hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community Gardiwal has called for the Takht to summon Harbhajan and direct him to apologise to the Sikh community. “How can one be stopped from entering a Gurudwara by private bouncers. No celebrity has ever deployed bouncers in a Gurudwara in Punjab,” he said.
The incident forced Harbhajan to come out and apologised, but the cameramen were obdurate. The Police reached the spot and booked the four bouncers before arresting them late on Thursday night.
