The criticism keep coming for England pacer Ollie Robinson for his antics during the first Ashes Test against Australia at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
The pacer has become an ‘Ashes villain’ in Australian cricketing fraternity for giving an abusive send-off to Usman Khawaja before stating that he does not care about the criticism. In the first innings of the Test, a pumped up Robinson was caught telling Khawaja: “F*** off, you f***ing p***k.”
Later, he cited the example of legendary Australia cricket Ricky Ponting to justify his action. And while many believe that Robinson’s actions made the game more interesting, many have heavily criticised him. In the second innings too, he was seen having a go at Khawaja and was reportedly criticising the opener for his defensive approach.

Matthew Hayden on Ollie Robinson:
Australia great Matthew Hayden has come down heavily on Robinson. The former Australia opener did not mince his words as he called Robinson a forgettable cricketer and taunted his bowling speed while also criticising his choice of words.
“That’s how you combat England as well. As soon as Pat Cummins started coming at Joe Root and hit a couple of sixes,” Hayden told SEN.
“Then the other bloke, he’s a forgettable cricketer. A fast bowler that is bowling 124 (kph) nude nuts and he’s got a mouth from the south,” he added.
Ian Healy asked: “Who, Ollie Robinson?”
In reply, Hayden continued: “Someone like him, you can just go, ‘Brother, I’m coming at ya’. Davey Warner can do that, right. He can just say, ‘You’re bowling 120km…’.”
Meanwhile, Australia beat England by 2 wickets to register a thrilling win and take the lead in the 5-match series. The second Test in London kicks off at Lord’s on June 28.
