Former Indian opener and present cricket commentator Aakash Chopra has recently predicted the result of the upcoming home T20I series against South Africa.

South Africa will travel to India in September-October for the three-match T20I and three-match Test series. At first, they will play the bilateral T20I series from 15th to 22nd September 2019. Later, the bilateral Test series will run between 2nd and 23rd October 2019. In March 2020, South Africa will land once again in India for the three-match ODI series.

Recently, the broadcasting channel Star Sports has come up with an advertisement video for the India-South Africa T20I series. The broadcaster has named it “Paytm T20 Trophy INDvSA: Balla bolega ya ball?” In this video, one ball and one bat have been involved in a banter conversation.

Sharing that advertisement video, Aakash Chopra also predicted that T20I series. He feels that India will win the T20I series comfortably. Chopra has even guessed the scoreline of this series – either 2-1 or 3-0. Then, he also asked the view of former South African captain Graeme Smith.

India have a better T20I record against South Africa. While India have won eight T20Is against the Proteas side, South Africa have won five T20Is in reply. Talking about the bilateral T20I series, they have played only one series in India. It was the three-match T20I series in October 2015 that South Africa won by the 2-0 margin.

However, India won their last bilateral T20I series against South Africa. In that three-match T20I series in South Africa in February 2018, India won by the 2-1 margin.

On last Thursday (29th August), the national selectors have announced the 15-member Indian squad for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa. It is the almost similar squad that travelled in the USA and West Indies for the three-match T20I series against Windies in this August. In the latest T20I squad for the upcoming home series, only Hardik Pandya has replaced Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
