I think Puducherry allows overseas players to play – Monty Panesar

Panesar played his last professional game in July 2016. Since then, he hasn’t found a County club yet. However, the left-arm spinner still wants to play this game. To continue his cricket dream, Panesar is now also thinking to play the Ranji Trophy 2019/20.

Panesar recently told The Telegraph, “I am still trying to play professional cricket, but I have not found a County (team) yet. I am still working hard to find a County. I may try and play Ranji Trophy this year.

He further added, “I think there is one team — Puducherry — that allows overseas players to play.”

Monty Panesar started his County career for Northamptonshire where he served from 2001 to 2009. Then he played for Sussex and Essex. In 2016, he returned to Northamptonshire and played his last first-class game in that season.

Panesar has played 219 first-class matches, 85 List A games and 33 T20s where he took 709, 83 and 27 wickets respectively.
