Former India batsman Aakash Chopra is having a hard time on social media at the moment. Ever since he began a war of words with former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad, the fans have called him out for his ‘hypocrisy’.

It all began when Aakash Chopra disagreed with Prasad’s criticism of KL Rahul over his poor form. Rahul is going through a lean patch at the moment and has been criticism from all quarters. The opening batsman’s form in the ongoing Test series against Australia has only made things worse for him.

He began the series with a knock of 20 in Nagpur before registering scores of 17 and 1 in the Delhi Test. Every failure of his is now met with severe criticism. The BCCI has also removed him as the vice-captain for the last two Tests and he is likely to make way for Shubman Gill in the playing eleven for the upcoming third Test.

And while Rahul was failing to justify his selection on the field, Prasad did not squander any chance to question his place in the team. Following the batsman’s poor run in Tests, Prasad alleged ‘favouritism’ in the Indian team as he opined that the opener does not deserve a place in the playing eleven.
