In Sheffield Shield, Australia’s limited-overs captain Aaron Finch has been ruled out of Victoria’s match against New South Wales after being diagnosed with the concussion at the MCG. He has been substituted with Travis Dean.
Standing at short leg, the Victoria player Finch was struck with the ball on the helmet after the tail-ender Steve O’Keefe played Flick shot on the ball of James Pattinson. Finch continued fielding after Doctor Trevor James cleared about any concussion symptoms.

However, in the lunch break, he experienced delayed symptoms, as per reports of Cricket Victoria and substituted out of the match. Travis Dean was included in the Vicotria team as the concussion substitute of Aaron Finch.
Talking about the match, New South Wales scored 294 runs at the loss of 10 wickets in the first innings. Victoria has scored 205 runs at the loss of 2 wickets in their first innings.

Ashes 2019
In Ashes 2019, Marnus Labuschagne became the Test cricket’s first concussion substitute. The hard-hitting batsman Steve Smith was struck with the ball in the helmet on the ball of England pacer Jofra Archer. Following that incident, Smith also experienced delayed concussion symptoms and was ruled out of the next innings.

During the Kingston Test between India and West Indies, Jermaine Blackwood replaced injured Darren Bravo as the concussion substitute.

During the Ranchi Test between India and South Africa, Theunis de Bruyn replaced injured Dean Elgar as the concussion substitute.
