AB De Villiers, who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL hit his 200th six for the franchise in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Dubai on Monday. The first six that he hit off pacer Sandeep Sharma of SRH enabled him to reach the milestone of 200 sixes for RCB. The list of maximum sixes is headed by Chris Gayle who has 326 sixes and followed by AB De Villiers who now has 214 sixes in IPL.
AB De Villiers has been playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2011 and has been one of the most exciting batsmen to watch out for in the tournament for several years now.
De Villiers’ partnership with RCB skipper Virat Kohli has been under the spotlight in innumerable IPL matches. However, despite the several records between the two players RCB have not been able to earn their maiden IPL title despite reaching the final thrice.

RCB captain Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers prepared for their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 opener against SRH with style with a message to their fans. The morning of the matchday saw both of them sporting RCB jerseys with the names of COVID-19 warriors.
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers changed their profile pictures on social media and even the jerseys with the names of COVID-19 warriors on it. Both the dashing batsmen also changed their Twitter profile names to Simranjeet Singh and Paritosh Pant, respectively dedicating it to the persons who were responsible to change COVID-19 situations to some extent.
“I salute Paritosh, who started ‘Project Feeding from Far’ with Pooja & fed meals to 2 needy during the lockdown. I wear his name on my back this season 2 appreciate their challenger spirit,” AB de Villiers wrote on his social media post.
Virat Kohli sported the jersey with Simranjeet’s name on it while the South African batsmen’s shirt had Paritosh’s name on it.

Devdutt Padikkal, RCB opener scored 56 off 42 balls with 8 hits to the fence while AB De Villiers scored 51 off only 30 balls including 4 boundaries and 2 sixers.
Virat Kohli, RCB skipper, however, was dismissed for only 14 as RCB scored 163/5 in the slated 20 overs. SRH lost the match eventually by 10 runs as they were dismissed for 153.
Jonny Bairstow scored 61 off 43 balls but RCB spinner Yuzvendra Chahal blocked SRH’s progress by picking up three wickets and conceding only 18 runs in four overs. Navdeep Saini has picked up two wickets while Shivam Dube also picked two wickets. Dale Steyn picked up the final wicket and Umesh Yadav proved to be a bit too expensive.
